Discover Roosters Waterfront Restaurant

Walking into Roosters Waterfront Restaurant feels like finding that sweet spot where comfort food meets a front-row seat to the river. The location at 1010 Port Way, Clarkston, WA 99403, United States, isn’t just an address-it’s a big part of the experience. I’ve eaten here on a quiet weekday afternoon and again during a packed summer evening, and both times the setting did half the work before the food even hit the table. Boats glide by, the water reflects the sky, and suddenly dinner feels like a small getaway rather than just another meal out.

The menu leans into classic American diner and casual waterfront fare, which makes it easy to order whether you’re starving or just grazing. On my first visit, I went with a burger and fries, mainly to see if they could nail the basics. The burger came out juicy, cooked exactly as requested, and paired with fries that were hot, crisp, and clearly made in-house. On another visit, I tried a seafood special recommended by the server, and it was obvious the kitchen understands timing and seasoning. According to data from the National Restaurant Association, consistency is one of the top factors influencing repeat visits, and that’s something this place gets right across different menu items.

Service plays a big role here. The staff knows the menu well and isn’t afraid to give honest opinions. One server explained how certain dishes are prepped earlier in the day to keep ticket times fast during the dinner rush, while others are cooked entirely to order. That transparency builds trust, especially for diners who care about freshness and process. When I asked about dietary options, the answer was clear and confident, without the awkward guessing you sometimes get elsewhere.

What really stands out is how the restaurant uses its waterfront setting intentionally. Tables are arranged so most seats have a view, and during warmer months, the outdoor seating fills up fast. A study published by Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration found that diners are willing to spend more and stay longer in environments with strong visual appeal, particularly natural views like water. That research tracks closely with what I’ve seen here-people linger, order dessert, and turn dinner into an evening.

Local reviews back this up. Many mention the relaxed vibe, reliable food, and how it works for everything from family dinners to casual date nights. One regular I spoke with said they stop in after work because it feels familiar without being boring, which is harder to pull off than it sounds. Another diner described it as bold words inside quotation marks and removed quotes: a place you can bring out-of-town guests and know it’ll land well. That kind of word-of-mouth doesn’t happen by accident.

The location also makes it a convenient stop if you’re exploring nearby spots or just passing through Clarkston. Parking is straightforward, and the restaurant layout handles both small groups and larger parties without feeling crowded. That said, peak times can mean a short wait, especially on weekends. It’s worth noting that while the menu covers a wide range of tastes, it doesn’t dive deeply into niche or experimental cuisine. Note limitation acknowledged: if you’re looking for ultra-modern or highly specialized dishes, the selection stays more traditional.

Overall, the experience feels honest. The food matches the setting, the service supports the atmosphere, and the restaurant understands its role in the local dining scene. It’s not trying to be something it’s not, and that confidence shows in everything from the menu design to the way servers interact with guests. Another phrase emphasized by locals, bold words inside quotation marks and removed quotes: reliable with a view, sums it up better than any slogan could.

  • Amazing view of the river. Food was excellent. Ate there twice. Drinks are great too. Not nearly as spendy as Earnies. And much better. There aren’t any umbrellas on the patio tables tho, So you bake like their potatoes! But I’d still go back for the food and the view. Fairly priced as well. Check it out.

  • Excellent customer service, food choices abundant and generous, reasonable prices. It's a happy place, for sure. So many funny signs - we were giggling the whole time!

  • We were visiting Lewiston/Clarkston on a day trip to run errands and took time out for lunch on the patio at Roosters overlooking the Clearwater river. We really don't know the restaurant scene in this area so took to Google reviews to see what others were saying. Roosters easily was at the top of the class with many five star reviews and we weren't disappointed in the least. Really good sandwiches, burgers, salads, and appetizers and all with a somewhat unique spin on the recipe. The wait staff were all friendly and efficient and it server said she had worked there over 20 years! That really tells you something about the owners and management. The place is perched next to a lovely small park even though the surrounding area mostly industrial. It overlooks the Clearwater river and it was very enjoyable to sit outside on this mid April day in the high 60s and watch tugboats move barges up and down the river. All in all a great spot. Highly recommended!!

  • Roosters is my favorite place. I love the waterfront view and the food is great. It's my monthly go to and I don't eat out that often. Thank you Roosters for always making me feel welcome!

  • This was the second time this year that we've dined at The Roosters Waterfront Restaurant, and unfortunately it was better the first time. No question the location along side the Snake River is great. As is the outside dining when the weather is nice, which it wasn't the day we went. The atmosphere inside is also FUN with all the road signs and kitschy stuff all around to look at, and it's large with plenty of seating options (tables, booths, bar). We went late afternoon on a rainy Saturday, but even so there were about 20 patrons in the restaurant. Not at all crowded. Orders were taken, but seemed to take a really long time to get our food. Nothing special or difficult. We ordered the Deluxe Burgers ($16) with fries. The burgers were a very good size and although not mentioned on the menu I'm thinking around 6 oz.. However, the meat was dry and they were not warm. Should have mentioned this to waiter, but we were starving by this time. Somewhat disappointed this time out, but will try again and do recommend the Roosters to anyone passing through the Valley.

  • ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5) “Scenic river views, great food, and genuine Northwest hospitality” Roosters Waterfront Restaurant captures everything that makes the Lewis-Clark Valley special — excellent food, friendly service, and a river view that never gets old. Whether you’re stopping in for breakfast, lunch, or a sunset dinner, the atmosphere here is consistently relaxed, welcoming, and unmistakably local. The food is consistently strong across the menu. The burgers are juicy and perfectly cooked, the seafood dishes are fresh and well-seasoned, and the breakfasts might be some of the best in town — hearty portions, hot coffee, and a view that makes you want to linger. The fish and chips and prime rib are also standouts — cooked right, full of flavor, and always served hot. Service is exactly what you hope for in a local favorite. The staff are friendly, attentive without hovering, and clearly take pride in keeping things running smoothly even when the place is packed. Drinks arrive quickly, orders are accurate, and everyone seems to genuinely enjoy working there. The real highlight, though, is the setting. Sitting on the deck by the Snake River, you get that perfect mix of breeze, view, and good food that defines the best kind of Northwest dining experience. If you’re in Clarkston or just passing through, Roosters is a must. It’s the go-to spot for locals and travelers alike — great food, great people, and one of the best waterfront views in the valley.

  • Great food, service and atmosphere. I ordered the Pecker Packer burger and a cup of chowder. For drinks I ordered the Big Eddy Red beer and the Cluck Cluck Punch cocktail

  • Great place for food, drinks, plenty of room, and a great view of the Snake River! They even have tons of signs and history to read along the way. We had a pretzel and a couple of drinks (lemon drop and beer) and it was a wonderful quick visit. Go see them! We loved our server with the bright eye shadow (forgot to get her name). Thank you.
